Queen of the Courts is an opportunity for female advanced/intermediate players to enjoy fun competitive pickleball games, usually on Thursday mornings each week. To participate, you should have a skill rating of 3.0 or higher. If you are unsure of your rating, check above under the Club info & Skills for definitions of player skill ratings. Play should begin by mid-May. There is no commitment to play every week.
You can register every week under Queen of the Courts in Other Registrations and it will be organized based on the number of ladies who register — the first 16 ladies who sign up will be included in the event. On the day, a facilitator checks arrivals in before play starts — if you've registered but haven't been checked in by the time Round 1 draws, your spot is released to make room for a full group.
Four courts are reserved, see the registration page for days and times. Queen of the Courts is organized as follows: Courts are named after a deck of cards — Aces, Kings, Queens and Jacks — with 4 players on each of the 4 courts (16 players total). The 4 Ace players play on Court #1, 4 King players on Court #2, 4 Queen players on Court #3, 4 Jack players on Court #4. Players with the red cards play together against the players with the two black cards. Teams play one game to 11, winning by one point, until time expires (the facilitator sets each round's length, typically around 13 minutes) or all games finish. If teams are tied at expiry of time, results are determined by the next point, using rally scoring.
The winners on Court #1 stay on that court and split up as partners, the players that lost move to Court #2 and split up as partners. The winners on Court #2 move to Court #1 and split up, while the players that lost move to Court #3 and split up. The winners on Court #3 move to Court #2 etc. The players that lost on Court #4 stay and split up.
At the end of the session, the Queens of the Courts are the winners of the last game on Court #1. This could be different players each week depending on who participates.
How the live app works. On the day, players draw their own starting court right on their phone. Once play begins, each court enters its own score live — the app moves winners and losers to their next court automatically once everyone's reported in. You can check the live Full Scoreboard at any point to see how every court is doing. Any logged-in member can help run the event, not just the convenor.

New: Queen Rankings
Starting this season, we're tracking a friendly ranking for Queen players — based on how well you finish each event and how you're trending over time. It's meant to be a fun way to see your progress, not a scoreboard to stress over.
A few things worth knowing:
- Your rank reflects recent play, not one bad (or great!) day. A single result won't make or break your ranking — it's based on a running trend across your recent events, so it settles naturally as you play more.
- Taking a break is completely fine. If you're away for a while, your rank steps back gracefully rather than staying stuck — no penalty for life getting in the way.
- Not ready to be ranked? No problem — you're always welcome to sit out and play as a guest instead. Guests aren't ranked and aren't rated, and their games don't count toward either. (One thing to know: because our rating system needs both players in a game to have a rating, playing against a guest means that particular game won't count toward YOUR Club Rating either — though it never affects your Queen rank either way.)
We built this because people were curious how they stack up and how they're improving — nothing more. Come play, have fun, and the numbers will take care of themselves!
