Procedures to create a ladder schedule
- Run Create a schedule
- View the schedule
- Sort the schedule by the Travel column. You need to sort it twice to have all the travel profiles at the top.
- Scan the profiles, identify special requests and determine who should travel together.
- Switch the groups to make couples who travel together be in groups that play in the same time slot. Do not forget to take into consideration special requests (Edwin at 7:30).
- If there are still difficulties, consider switching individuals between time slots. Important here to make sure the switched individuals are about the same skill level
- Once you are satisfied that the schedule is as good as you can get it, take a look at the schedule for each time slot and double check that it is indeed as good as you can get it.
- Change the menu permissions (3 menu items, the one for 6, the one for 7:30 and the over all schedule for Monday) so that all players can see the schedule (just take out the editor and administrator permissions, then all logged in players will be able to see the schedules).
- Send an email to all registered users telling them the schedule is ready and to check their times and courts before coming to play. Use the email tag under the registrations for the ladder and do not forget to specify the SPP template.
- Print the schedule sheets and bring them to the court for the players to record scores.
- When all the games have been played, record the scores using the proper menu item.
- Remove access to all the schedule menu items by clicking on the permissions for the administrator and editor. Only those roles will then be able to view the past and future schedules.
